My AMAZING parents gifted me some amazing equipment to get me started and my mentor, Helen, has been trying to guide me along the way. Some days I have these little "photography epiphanies" and other days I feel like I need to hand my camera over to a professional and go buy myself a disposable camera. I've recently become engrossed in an amazing photography forum (photographyonthenet.com)...I spend countless hours on that site! There are some seriously amazing photographers on that site and their pictures never cease to amaze me! I don't even feel qualified to post on their boards!
Anywho, I did my first "photo-shoot" yesterday (I use that term in only the basest sense, as I do not want to anger any real photographers with my goofy pictures). My mostly unwilling subjects were two children I met through work, Mark and Luke. I uploaded the pictures onto Casey's computer for the mother to see and she seemed pretty thrilled, so mission accomplished...I suppose!
Here are some of the unretouched pictures: (I'll add some more after some PP)
After looking at the photos, I wish I had not used the blanket on the grass. The color of the grass looked great that day (despite all the conditions fighting against me - freshly cut grass, blazingly bright sun...etc.) and I wish I had just put the kids on the wet grass!

Lauren, those pictures rock! My fave is the one with the big bro playing the bongos on the little one's head!
You are so lucky to have such amazing parents
Who are these amazing parents? Pat and Marilyn got me toenail clippers and a pack of Virginia Slims.
(Great pictures; especially the 2nd set of kids)
